The re-issue of The Strange Attractors' self-titled debut album and Head of Skulls!' You Became Your Mind are now available digitally, both here on our store and at digital outlets such as iTunes, Amazon, Insound, etc.


The 180 gram LPs for both will be available very soon and can be pre-ordered from our store as of today.

We can now announce these digital release dates: The Strange Attractors' self-titled debut, here remixed from the original reels by Che Arthur and mastered by Carl Saff,  will be out digitally on March 9, 2010.  180 gram LP (with included download card) will follow a couple weeks later.  Also Head Of Skulls!' You Became Your Mind album will be released digitally on April 6, 2010 and it's looking like the LP (180 gram of course, and with download) will be released in mid-April.
 
As well, we are re-releasing The Che Arthur Three's Like Revenge record April 20!  The LP, which already included the 256k download, will now come with extra artwork and a bonus download of acoustic mixes of some of the Like Revenge songs.

Hello fine people! It’s been a while since our last transmission. We’ve missed you terribly and couldn’t wait any longer to tell you what’s been going on at Past/Futures HQ.
 
First, we are beyond excited to announce that the re-mixing and re-mastering of the self titled debut album from The Strange Attractors is FINISHED! Impeccably re-mixed by Che Arthur and re-mastered by Carl Saff, the visionary first album from The Strange Attractors comes alive in a way that’s both familiar and fresh. If you were one of the many that were unable to find a copy of the first album, your excruciating wait is almost over. If you are one of the lucky few that have a copy of the original release, you’ll love the new version of the album along with some surprises we’ve added. We are targeting an early March release for the album in MP3 and vinyl formats. The vinyl will include a free download of the MP3 version. We should have some tracks available for streaming from our website and myspace page soon.
 
Second, we are very pleased to announce that Past/Futures Records has “signed” Head of Skulls!  The Chicago band features members of Milemarker, Atombombpocketknife and Pinebender, and we're releasing their second album “You Became Your Mind”.  It should be out in April on vinyl as well as digitally.
 
Lastly but not leastly, our friend and sonic titan Che Arthur is embarking on a secret project called Pink Avalanche.  No recordings have surfaced yet but we hear tell that the songs are piano-based, dark and dynamic.  We're looking forward to finding out what direction this project will take when unveiled.  We'll keep you posted!
 
 

The Strange Attractors new album, "Sleep and You Will See", just finished three consecutive weeks on the CMJ 200 radio chart! It debuted at #150 and was the 8th most added records of its add week! A special thanks go's out to all the stations and fans for continued support of this amazing record.

The Che Arthur Three Like Revenge 180 Gram LP / 256k MP3: Like Revenge is the third album of Arthur’s material to see release, but the first in a band format.  On it, Che takes a bit of time off from his busy schedule as a live sound engineer and tour manager (he’s toured with bands including Minus The Bear, Shellac, Pelican and Sparta) to forge together the elements of postpunk, classic heavy rock and dark acoustic introspection in the most cohesive way a Che Arthur record has done yet.  It is truly a bold step forward in the catalog of an already-respected artist. 

We hate to compare it to anything at all, really, but if we had to, we’d say to think Chavez meets Crazy Horse and they have some drinks with Neurosis while listening to early Sunny Day Real Estate.

The Strange Attractors Sleep And You Will See 2 Color Haze LP / 256k MP3: The Strange Attractors’ Sleep and You Will See is the second album by the Austin based band which features former and current members of the Riverboat Gamblers.  The album delivers on the promise of their first, self-titled release with a set of exploratory yet smartly crafted modern psychedelic pop songs.   We’re reminded what might have happened if Spacemen 3 had been weaned on loud Texas garage rock.
